Eyebrow Filling

When the lines between the eyebrows are first noticed, they usually appear with a frowning movement and can be reduced by applying light doses of Botox. However, as they deepen and become constantly visible over time, filler treatment may be needed along with Botox applications to flatten them.

Frown lines appear due to repetitive facial expressions. Sometimes, they may become apparent earlier or worsen more quickly due to lifestyle habits such as excessive sun exposure, smoking, sugar habits or alcohol consumption.

The best known method for reducing the appearance of lines between the eyebrows is Botox. In deeper lines where Botox is not sufficient, your doctor may also recommend a filler application. Sometimes, the filler application alone will not be enough because it will not prevent the muscle movement there from decreasing. For this reason, it is a more accurate approach to both reduce the frowning movement with Botox and support the area under the line with filler application.

The application area is cleaned, local anesthetic cream is applied. It is important not to touch it, not to get it in water, and not to apply make-up to that area for 24 hours after the procedure. Although the effect period of fillers placed in this area is said to be 8-12 months, this period is extended in filler applications made together with Botox. Because Botox applied to that area prevents the filler from melting by reducing the movement of the mimic muscles, thus extending the permanence of the filler.
